THRILLER COURSEWORK: Planning Phase 6
We felt that today was all about the details and building a clear foundation of the first few scenes.
Ryu and I separated on doing two tasks when lesson began- Ryu finding the music, and myself writing a transcript that ultimately is based on the first 2 pages of the story board. After half an hour, we reunited and presented each other's works. Feedback was given, where Ryu helped me describe a clearer image, and I helped Ryu by adding one more song that felt right.
MEDIA OPENING TRANSCRIPT
The opening states a black screen, before slowly adjusting its angle and zooming out from the dark, blurred and canted shot.
As we start to make sense of the rather mystic unravelling, we see brief lines of shadows, that make up the physique of an injured and bloodied face.
Soon the camera re-positions and settles in this unstable sequence, exposing the fact that the lifeless body and cold eyes were too late to save. There is no hope. Tension is rising. Noises boombox through the cheap, contained speakers.
Then- boom. Two quick shots of the nightmarish stare from a figure up close- that the audiences had reluctantly been exposed to without consent.
My workspace- with the story board as our basis, my trusty highlighters, and the document containing the descriptive transcript of events |
Ryu's station- his EOS 760D Canon to test cinematography, his laptop downloading license free music that fits the scenes, and currently searching the Youtube Music Library for more. |
